A Couple Birthdays

I get so excited when we have visitors come to town I look forward to it so much! We were supper lucky a couple weeks ago to have Emily and Brandon come down our way. It was Emily's birthday so we had a little dinner and celebration for you.
She is 21! I really can't believe how quickly time is going by and everyone is getting older!
Peyton wanted to help her with those candles.
That weekend the weather was so nice we were able to get outside which we all love!! Peyton especially I always have to take a picture cause I just love the look of joy on Peyton's face:)
Peyton loved Shaye and Brandon tossing him back in forth.
It was also Nate's birthday that weekend so we met up with everyone and went bowling since that is Nate's favorite thing to do.
Peyton loved watching everything he thought it was pretty neat.
Plus he had to get in on the fun and go out there with Dad, which actually I think they got a strike this time:)

We all had a great time. Mikkel and her family were there too but somehow I didn't get them in any pictures. Hope you had a happy birthday Nate, glad you can always bring us together to do something fun!!

February Blahs

Winter has been slow to find us this year. We enjoyed a pretty pleasant January considering what it could've been like. It was nice but it got me wanting and getting ready for spring. Unfortunately now winter has found us and it seems to be here to stay for awhile! Since February has begun we have had a few big storms and since it seems we will be dealing with winter for awhile Peyton and I decided to make the most of it. One day after a big storm I decided that I would shovel the driveway and such so I got Peyt bundled up in his snow suit and we headed out. It turned out to be a great little project for us and Peyton loved being outside.
In fact Peyton was enjoying it so much I couldn't get him to look at me for a picture. He was to busy looking at the white stuff and trying to figure out what to do next!
He wouldn't venture out where I hadn't shoveled, which was good that way I could keep him contained and he wouldn't get into trouble:)
Other things we have been up to since we are stuck inside most of the day is Peyton has started enjoying playing in his room by himself sometimes. Which is really nice for me if I'm trying to get dinner ready or something. I always sneak up and peak at him every once in awhile to make sure he's not getting into trouble and this is what I usually find. His new favorite thing is to sit in the rocking chair by himself and look at books. It is just so adorable I had to come take a picture of him. He is getting so smart and in the past couple days has started trying to copy lots of new things we say. It is so crazy how they learn!
Still something he loves is putting on Dad's clothes. Shaye was taking off his church clothes one night and Peyt wanted to put them on. Peyton loves wearing things around his neck especially Shaye's work badge. Look at him he looks pretty proud of himself:)
We did enjoy a fun Valentines Day. Our great friends the Engle's came over and we enjoyed a good dinner and treats together. It was a great evening of celebrating love:)
The Engle's brought this great heart shaped pizza:)
I decided to make these yummy treats cause I thought they looked Valentines-ish. Plus they are super tasty:)
And last but not least, these are the pretty flowers Shaye got for me to enjoy for Valentines Day!

Happy Birthday to Shaye

Another year has gone by and Shaye has turned 27!! Can't believe how quickly the years are going by and we just keep getting older. Sadly Shaye is still younger than me, I think somehow I thought he was going to catch up to me someday. It doesn't seem to be working that way, I keep getting older too! Well we had fun celebrating his birthday this year, here's what we did...
Peyton was excited to help open his present. He put more effort in than he did for all of Christmas, maybe he's starting to get the concept:)
We decided to head down to Vegas to celebrate and to visit Grandma Alta since Shaye had a couple days in a row off. We stopped at Great Grandpa Jackson's on the way and Peyton had a great time seeing all the animals. He has been really liking ducks lately and you'll always hear him quacking up a storm. So he was pretty excited to see this guy and it was hilarious to hear him quack at the duck.
Quack quack!
The weather was so so nice in Vegas we loved getting to sport our shades! Shaye and I couldn't stop laughing at Peyton in his sun glasses, it was to funny. He would leave them on forever and just looked like such a little stud muffin:)
Us at the Wynn hotel checking out the cool decorations for the Chinese new year.

I was worried Peyton was going to grab on and pull the whole dragon down...I'm happy to report that didn't happen.
Taking a break, I wished I had somewhere to lay down for a bit after walking a long ways. It cracks me up when he puts his legs up:)
We always have to visit BassPro Shops while there and Peyton loves it. There is this way cool fish tank and Peyt loved seeing all the fish plus there was a scuba diver in there feeding the sting rays and little sharks, pretty cool.
I don't know if I'm cool enough to hang out with these two!

I just can't get enough of these two good looking guys! Peyton was all about walking, he didn't want to ride in his stroller unless he was drinking his milk. Otherwise he wanted to be walking. Thinks he's getting so big he does:)
That evening Shaye and I got to go out on the town for a nice date after putting Peyton to sleep. It was so nice to get out and spend a nice evening together. Thanks to GG for staying home with Peyton! I couldn't get over these super pretty flower balls they had hanging from the ceiling. So pretty I want some for my house:)
We went back to the Wynn for their show Le Reve and it was totally awesome!! This was right before it started.
You can't take pictures during the show but it was really fabulous and hard to describe. It is all done in water, this is after the show but there was diving, synchronized swimming, dancing and lots of special effects.
Thanks for taking me on such a nice date Shaye:)
I loved these flower things, so cool! All in all we had a great time and a fun way to celebrate Shaye's birthday and have a mini vacation!! Now we are back home and it is cold! The day after we got home it snowed like 6 inches or more, I think I'm ready for another trip:)
